Sre Pok Wildlife Sanctuary has a rich ecosystem and diverse wildlife

The Ministry of Environment has released photos captured by researchers at the Sre Pok Wildlife Sanctuary, which illustrate the sanctuary’s rich wildlife.

It should be noted that these photos were taken by a group of Cambodian biodiversity researchers from April 23-25. The photos were taken at Sre Pok Wildlife Sanctuary, located in Mondulkiri. The sanctuary covers an area of ​​372,971 hectares and was established on May 9, 2016.

Sub-Decree No. 29 of February 1, 2019 on the definition and division of the management area of ​​the Sre Wildlife Sanctuary identified four management areas: core area, conservation area, sustainable use area and community area. .

According to the Ministry of Environment, Sre Pok Wildlife Sanctuary covers the largest and most extensive mixed forest in Cambodia. It is valuable for conservation and ecological work.

Sre Pok Wildlife Sanctuary is home to globally rare and endangered species such as Asian elephant, clouded leopard, crocodiles and dozens of other fish species.
